The city received more than 3,500 applications last year and is expecting even more this year.
SAN ANTONIO — Monday is the deadline to apply for a program to help you restore your home.
If you’re approved you could qualify for a loan of up to $145,000 dollars; the forgiveable loans are available to low and moderate-income households.
The city says the money is to help address health and safety issues.
The program can help major problems with foundation, structural, electrical, plumbing, heating and air conditioning issues.
It can also help with minor repairs like siding, walk-in showers, plumbing, window replacement, water heater replacement and painting.
Homeowners must meet certain criteria to be selected for the program. Families must make less than $63,000 per year and live in a single-family home in need of improvement.
The funding is part of the 2022 $150 million Affordable Housing Bond and the city has about $26 million to help with about 650 families.
Last year, 3500 people applied for the assistance.
Applications are only accepted online on the city’s website.
