Mary Jane Hollinsworth Louisville home filled with Christmas decor

The Xmas decorations in Mary Jane Hollinsworth’s childhood house have been nominal.

“There was a Christmas tree and a wreath,” she advised The Courier Journal. A neutral palette

Hollinsworth’s festive decorating started off modest — with just 1 tree, as is generally the case. But just about every 12 months, her selection of Xmas products grew. By the time she moved into her current household in 2007, she’d amassed pretty an assortment. “I never use my hearth,” Hollinsworth stated, “and I imagined, what can I do to make it glimpse rather? And (now), I go away it calendar year-round. I really like it.”

A Christmas mix

A further of Hollinsworth’s perennial decorations sits in a corner in the kitchen. The eco-friendly potted artificial plant, dubbed the vegetable tree, could easily be mistaken for a little Xmas tree. Its ornaments, however, are all backyard garden themed. Everything from a sunflower and a tomato to a lemon wedge and pepper adorn the plant.

Though significantly of Hollinsworth’s décor was procured from outlets all-around town and some local artists, there are a couple Santa figures that she crafts herself — to display at residence and to give away. There are two in the household Hollinsworth has also donated a couple to charity auctions, and gifted various others to her daughters-in-regulation and grandchildren.
