Portland Timbers announce local home improvement company DaBella as new jersey sponsor

The Portland Timbers unveiled their new kit sponsor on Wednesday: a rapidly growing local home improvement and siding contractor.

DaBella is Portland’s new kit sponsor, as was initially revealed by leaked photos shared with The Oregonian/OregonLive on Tuesday night of Timbers players wearing the new jerseys along with myriad sponsorship signage visible inside Providence Park.

“We are thrilled to partner with one of the fastest growing home improvement companies in the nation and look forward to seeing DaBella on our kits beginning in 2024,” Timbers CEO Heather Davis said in a release. “A company with roots in my hometown of Hillsboro, DaBella is uniquely positioned to use their resources to partner with us to make a positive impact in our community.”

The new sponsor replaces Alaska Airlines, which ended its longtime jersey sponsorship with the Timbers at the conclusion of the 2023 season.

Founded in 2011, DaBella is based in Hillsboro and has 46 locations nationwide. The company specializes in home improvement services including roofing, siding, window and bath installation.

DaBella’s annual revenues are $360 million with around 1,600 employees, according to the Sports Business Journal. Alaska Airlines’ reported revenue for 2022 was $9.6 billion.

“It is a dream come true to partner with the Portland Timbers and give back to the community that helped us start this journey,” DaBella CEO Donnie McMillan Jr. said in the release. “Portland is our home. Our alignment with the Timbers, an organization that shares our core values, will allow us to cultivate a positive impact to the local communities in which we serve.”

The partnership between DaBella and the Timbers will include several community initiatives, including free roofs provided by DaBella to local families in need and other partnered work through the club’s community outreach arm, Stand Together.

“In addition to reaching the Portland community and Timbers fans, this is a tremendous platform to grow our national footprint through the power of the MLS, its media partnership with Apple TV and the upcoming 2026 World Cup,” Bastian Cowsert, Chief Marketing Officer of DaBella, said in the release. “Sports brings people together. Whether you’re playing or watching, athletics creates community. Connecting with an organization that focuses so much on community was a key factor in embarking in this partnership.”

The monetary details of the Timbers’ deal with DaBella are not yet public, although The Oregonian/OregonLive has requested additional information from the club.
