Star Furniture promotes 3 to vice president positions

HOUSTON — Star Furniture, part of Top 100 Berkshire Hathaway’s furniture division, announced that it promoted three director-level associates to vice presidential posts this week. All three new vice presidents report directly to CEO Jeff Cohen.

Michele Koepke is vice president of finance. Koepke started her Star career in 1993, previously working as controller. In her new role, she will assume the day-to-day responsibilities of running the finance team and will work proactively with the leadership team in driving financial improvements across the business.

Elizabeth Rodriguez is vice president of stores and customer care. Rodriguez joined Star in 2018 as director of strategic initiatives and has led numerous cross functional efforts including the customer care department. Store general managers and the manager of customer care will report to Rodriguez.

Alicia Macha

Alicia Macha is vice president of merchandising. Macha also joined Star as a buyer in 2018 and has managed her categories, including entertainment, home office, accessories and mattresses. She will be responsible for managing the merchandising team as well as personally buying several categories.
