Walmart has partnered with Angi to add a new home service offering at nearly 4,000 Walmart stores nationwide. Walmart shoppers can seamlessly hire Angi experts to help with more than 150 common home projects, including flooring, painting, plumbing, electrical, TV mounting, installation and assembly services. Walmart will be Angi’s first limited-time exclusive retailer to offer these options.
Angi’s services can be purchases online or in-store with any eligible item or at any time from the dedicated Angi landing page on Walmart.com. The transaction is handled the same as any other Walmart purchase, and Angi will reach out afterward to coordinate the booking. Prices start at $49 for furniture assembly and $79 for TV mounting.
Dedicated project advisors are available to help shoppers with larger projects such as painting or flooring. Customers can first request a quote through Walmart, at which point the project advisor will provide the custom quote, find a pro and work alongside the customer throughout the entire process.
“Since the start of the pandemic, the home is in focus and people across the U.S. are doing more home improvement, maintenance and repair work and they are often turning to Walmart to find the tools and materials needed to start those projects,” said Oisin Hanrahan, CEO of Angi in a statement. “Things like sprucing up an entertaining space by installing a new smart TV, painting a nursery for a family addition, and transforming an outdoor space and adding a patio are now projects that Walmart customers can get done seamlessly with the help of an Angi pro as part of the Walmart shopping experience.”
The service will build upon Walmart’s partnership with Handy, which is primarily focused on indoor assembly and installations. Other retailers offer similar options, including IKEA’s partnership with TaskRabbit to help customers assemble their furniture.
