Avani Hotels & Resorts has unveiled the Avani Muscat Hotel, its first property in the Sultanate of Oman. Located in Seeb, the sleek new property blends heritage-inspired touches with a contemporary flair executed by the Minor Hotels in-house design team.
“This is a true modern design hotel that breaks away from conventional or traditional design approach,” Minor Hotels says in a statement. “The main target was to make our guests feel they were in Oman and not somewhere else. To be able to sense and feel the culture, history, and heritage that has been so well preserved.”
Wood, stone, and brass are feature prominently in the materiality as a homage to their role in Omani culture. The wood elements reflect the maritime traditions and craftsmanship of the region, while stone and brass nod to natural history and jewelry customs, respectively. Organic hues further emphasize the storied, natural splendor of Muscat and also infuse a sense of warmth.
All-day dining concept Trisis showcases a nature-inspired atmosphere anchored by an indoor tree, while the alfresco Patio Bar overlooks a turquoise swimming pool and the cityscape. Amenities like AvaniFit, a 7,750-square-foot ballroom, a private majilis, and two large meeting rooms are housed onsite as well.
Soothing but stimulating, each of the 161 guestrooms are adorned with natural materials, bespoke décor, and Omani tones. Flexible configuration options empower guests to curate their own workspace or lounge environment as well. A total of 45 studio, two-, and three-bedroom serviced apartments are also featured.
