AN Olive Garden restaurant has been replaced by a new hot pot and BBQ joint and it has a popular neighbor.
This branch of the Italian restaurant chain shut its doors in Owings Mills, Maryland.
The Olive Garden closed its doors on June 14, 2023, and left the retail plot vacant for months.
Locals will be treated to a new Volcano Hot Pot & BBQ spot instead.
The dining spot will be located at the Restaurants at Mill Station off of Red Run Boulevard, according to ABC affiliate WMAR-TV.
Red Lobster will neighbor the new restaurant.

This chain offers “different authentic dishes, the friendly service and lively environment,” according to the company’s website.
Diners will be able to cook some of their dishes at their table through broths or BBQs.
They will be able to pick from “7 different flavors of hot pot broth with everyone on the table having their own flavor and soup to cook in,” according to WMAR-TV.
Diners will also reportedly be able to have unlimited seafood, noodles, and vegetables.
Volcano Hot Pot & BBQ is a small chain with multiple locations in Florida, a few in Texas, and one in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
This announcement was made by Kimco Realty, a real estate investment trust.
The Olive Graden that originally occupied the plot revealed the location closed as they chose not to renew the lease at that time, according to WMAR-TV.
People shared mixed thoughts about the new news on Facebook.
“Diner cooks the food at the table??” one person questioned
“HOTPOT!!!!!” another commenter said excitedly.
