This Copycat Creamy Italian Dressing Recipe Tastes Like Olive Garden’s Famous Dressing | Sauces/Condiments

While I love my local mom and pop Italian restaurants, there’s just something about Olive Garden’s Italian dressing. Yes, they do sell it now at grocery stores, but there’s also just something about making homemade salad dressing. This creamy Italian salad dressing recipe tastes really similar to that chain restaurant’s famous dressing.

The creamy salad dressing took less than five minutes to prepare, and I had everything in my pantry or fridge to make it. Simple ingredients. Here is what you need to make this homemade Italian dressing: olive oil, white vinegar, a packet of dry Italian dressing mix, granulated sugar and mayonnaise. The ingredients are shaken together in a mason jar or whisked together in a bowl. Season with a little salt and black pepper, and it is ready for those salad greens.

This Italian dressing is not only tasty on your favorite
salad, but on pasta salad, grilled chicken, fish or shrimp, and grain salads. It would also be a delicious dip for fresh vegetables like broccoli, red peppers, cherry tomatoes or carrot sticks.

Recipe Notes

  • I used Good Seasons Italian dressing mix.

  • This dressing packs a vinegary punch. So if you don’t like a lot of vinegar in your salad dressing, start with 1/4 cup and taste before adding more.

  • Minced fresh chives would be a great addition to the salad dressing. You could also add in some fresh minced garlic.

Here’s how to make it:

  1. Put all the ingredients into a mason jar or into a mixing bowl. Season with salt and black pepper.

  2. Shake the mason jar until well combined or whisk until smooth and creamy.
